War and Famine

Elisha Traps the Blinded Arameans -2 Kings 6:8-22
The king of Aram is at war with Israel but Elisha warns the king of Israel about the plans of the king of Arameans. So the king wanted to get hold of Elisha. He sent his troops and Elisha pray to open the eyes of the scared servant to see the enemies and pray for the soldiers to be blinded and went with them in Samaria to be presented to the king of Israel. Elisha then prayed for the Arameans to open their eyes. The king asked if they could kill them but Elisha said to the king to have a feast and sent them back so that the war will be stopped.
We are everyday at war. We all have our battles in our lives. But even though we felt scared like the servant ,but see how Elisha reacted to that ,instead of worrying He immediately seek God and believe God for this instance in His life. We can also learn from this that even though our enemies had tormented us we can still pray for them and loved them because God will provide a way to stop and to restore you and your enemy’s relationship.

Famine in Besiege in Samaria -2 Kings 6:24-33 2 Kings 7:1-2
This is a story of great famine where a woman approached the king of Israel to tell him that his son was eaten yesterday but the other woman hid his child so that they can’t eat him that day which they promised. The unbelief of the king because of this famine made the Lord angry by which Elisha declared in God’s word that there will be flour sold for a shekels and two sheas for barley in the gate of Samaria. But Elisha told the king that he will see it with his eyes but he will not eat from it.
If you are in a dry season where everything seems wrong ,how should you react? Will you react like the King? Or will you be like the lady who instead of asking and seeking God turned to do things on her own which is not God’s will for her? Will you then be having the big faith of Elisha that even though the famine is that worst and He still seeks God and declare and believe that this famine shall pass? Are you willing to wait on the Lord or will you be in charge during the famine arrives? I remember a worship song from Hillsong entitled” Desert Song” which we should be our attitude towards the dry season:
The lyrics are somewhat like this:

This is my prayer in the desert
when all that’s within me feels dry
This is my prayer in my hunger and need
My God is a God who provides

And I will bring praise
I will bring praise
No weapon form against me shall remain
I will rejoice
I will declare
God is my victory and He is Here.

God Bless!
